If your hot water system makes a lot of popping and crackling noises when it is heating up it could be due to “Kettling”. Kettling is when there is a build up of sediment in the base of the tank. We can solve this problem by performing a routine service and anode replacement, followed by a tank flush to remove the sediment. If you stay on top of this and have it done every 2-3 years, it will prolong the life of your tank.
A whole house water filter removes contaminants and provide filtered water throughout your whole house. This means that you not only have fresh clean drinking water but the water that you use for showering and cleaning is also free of nasty chemicals.

The most energy efficient electric storage tank hot water system is called a heat pump. Heat pumps use heat from the surrounding air to heat the water instead of an electric element. This uses much less power and therefore costs less to run.
There are two main reasons why a toilet will run.
- Leaking outlet rubber – this is the rubber seal that seals all the water in the cistern, as this rubber gets old it starts to perish, once it has perished enough it will begin to allow water to pass into the bowl.
- Leaking inlet valve – Every toilet has an inlet valve, this is simply just a valve with a float that fills the cistern up with water, as these valves get old the float no longer activates the valve and the cistern will overfill, when the cistern overfills it will flow down an overflow pipe and run into the bowl.
Both of these components are replaced in a cistern service, so if you have a running toilet give us a call and one of our friendly plumbers will be there ASAP!
The most common cause of a dripping tap is a when the rubber on the jumper valve perishes, this happens over time as things wear down, routine tap servicing will help eliminate this issue. There are other more serious causes of a leaking tap like when the brass seat of the tap body develops a crack, however, we are able to easily repair these cracks with a special tool
Shower re-grouting involves removing the old, damaged, or discoloured grout from between the tiles and replacing it with new grout. This process not only enhances the appearance of your shower but also helps prevent water leakage and potential damage to your tiles and wall.
If you leave a tap drip for too long the brass seat inside the tap body can develop a crack or channel. When a tap is dripping we only see the drip from the outside of the tap, however, inside the tap it is like a little water jet that is spraying onto the brass seat, this can cause a channel or crack in the seat, we can remove these cracks using a special tool but if a leak goes too long without repair this crack could be too big and the tap will need to be replaced.
We use many different machines and tools to clear blocked drains. The main machine we use is called a Jetter, the Jetter utilises high pressure water and specialised cutting heads to cut through stubborn blockages and tree roots. Signs that your roof may need repair include visible damage to tiles, such as cracks, or missing cement from joints. Other indicators include leaks or water stains in your ceiling or roof space, sagging areas on the roof, moss or mildew buildup. It’s important to address these signs early to prevent further damage.
Here are some signs that your hot water tank may need replacing:
- The hot water tank has water leaking from it.
- You have rusty or dirty looking water coming out of your taps
- The tank itself has lots of rust on it.
- The water may not be as hot as it used to be, or you may not have any hot water at all.
- The hot water system is making unusual noises

There are many benefits to gas hot water systems:
- Gas can heat water very quickly and efficiently
- Because gas heats water very fast, you are much less likely to run out of hot water
- Gas itself is cheap, which in turn makes it cheap to use gas to heat your water
- Gas systems have all parts and components readily available, this makes servicing and maintenance a breeze.
- Gas systems come in all different models, this means that we can find the perfect solution for your home.
One of the common mistakes we see are when people hire someone who isn’t a licensed plumber, this often leads to larger problem and ends up costing more. Another major issue we see is companies that perform plumbing repairs that are far too cheap, the problem that we see with this is that they never quite fix the problem correctly or they use cheap or second-hand parts that don’t last. It’s always best to use a fully licensed plumber who uses quality parts and always strives for quality workmanship. That’s why we offer a lifetime guarantee on our workmanship because we know that we can back it up.
Instant hot water systems only heat the water as you need it, because of this they are much more efficient than a storage tank. Also, because of their slimline design they take up much less space and can easily be installed in a cupboard.
Re-grouting restores the appearance of your shower, making it look clean and new. It also prevents water from seeping behind the tiles, which can cause mould, mildew, and structural damage. Additionally, re-grouting can increase the value of your home by maintaining the bathroom in good condition
Electric storage tanks have many benefits:
- Unlike a gas hot water system, there is no flue required. This makes electric storage tanks ideal for apartment buildings or compact house as they can easily located inside.
- Electric storage tanks have a constant water pressure, there is no need to slow the water to give the heating element enough time to heat it as it is already heated.
- Storage tanks are able to service multiple fixtures at once.
- Electric storage tanks are very simple in design only have a few components to heat the water, this makes maintenance and repairs very straight forward.
- Storage tanks have a very long life, and they usually have an enamel coated tank and sacrificial anodes to protect the tank from rusting.
This could be a leaking pipe, a leaking tap, or it could be due to the grout. Our technicians are very well trained and are able to determine what exactly is causing the leak using specialised equipment. Give us a call today and one of our friendly plumbers will be there ASAP to solve the problem.

As hot water systems are heating up you may notice some drippling from an open pipe or valve, these valves are called relief valves and they do exactly that, the valve doing its job to help release pressure from the tank as it heats. If this valve is always leaking, even when the tank is not heating it could be faulty and need replacing.
This could be due to the heating element inside the tank rupturing and tripping out the power. If this has happened to you, leave the power to the hot water system off and give us a call to replace the element, it can be very dangerous to try and fix an electric hot water system yourself so its best to leave it to the professionals.
Drains making a gurgling noise can be the first sign of a blockage forming. When a drain is partially blocked it obstructs how much air can freely move back and forth in the drain, this then causes a gurgling noise. If this is what’s happening to your drain, give us a call and we can inspect the drain with our state-of-the-art camera equipment and solve the issue before it becomes an emergency.
Yes, we are able to install an instant gas hot water system as a booster for your solar, this way you are getting the best of both worlds, you get free hot water when the sun is out and you get very cheap and efficient hot water on demand when there is no sun.
When the sun is out and shining your solar hot water system doesn’t need to use any power, so it’s not costing you anything to run. So, what happens when there is no sun? Well, when there is no sun the solar hot water system will rely on its booster, the booster can be electric or gas and these will make sure that you have hot water even on those cloudy days.
If you have recently installed solar panels on your roof and you are looking to replace your old hot water system, it may be a good option to go with an electric system as the sun will do most of the heating and not rely on power from the grid.
In the long run gas hot water is usually more efficient. However, if you have solar panels installed at your property it can be very efficient to run an electric hot water system as the sun is doing most of the work.
Yes, you can absolutely replace your storage tank for an instant gas hot water system. However, because the instant gas hot water system has to heat the water much quicker they need a lot more gas when they are operating, because of this we would need to upgrade the gas supply to the hot water system to ensure it operates safely and efficiently.

This is generally caused by a leaking outlet rubber. When the outlet rubber that stops all of the water in the cistern from going down the bowl starts to wear down it will leak, if it starts to leak the level in the cistern will start to go down, once the level has dropped enough then the float valve inside the cistern will activate and it will start to fill the tank back up. This is why sometimes you may hear the tank fill up when it hasn’t been used, a toilet service will fix this issue.
All hot water systems require servicing to maintain efficient and safe operation. We recommend that your hot water system be serviced and inspected every year to ensure everything is operating correctly. We also recommend that the sacrificial anodes be replaced every 2-3 years to extend the life of the tank.
